Diacon-D IGR Dry Grain Protectant

Product Overview

Diacon®-D IGR is a ready-to-use dry grain protectant and insect growth regulator for stored grain, seed, animal feed, and other labeled stored commodities.

The active ingredient, (S)-methoprene, helps disrupt insect development by preventing immature insects from becoming reproductive adults. This makes Diacon-D IGR a useful preventive tool in stored product pest management programs where long-term protection is needed.

Because Diacon-D IGR is a dry formulation, it can be useful in applications where water is limited or where a dry application is preferred. It can be applied directly to grain streams, used as a top-dress treatment, mixed with feed, or applied as an empty-premise treatment according to the product label.

For farmers, grain elevator managers, flour millers, seed suppliers, and animal feed facilities, Diacon-D IGR can help protect stored commodities as part of a broader IPM program that includes sanitation, monitoring, aeration, grain quality management, and proper application equipment.

Application rates vary by commodity and treatment site. The current page lists 10 lb per 1,000 bushels of commodity and 1.5 oz per 1,000 sq ft of surface area as premise treatment examples. Always read and follow the product label before use.
