Product Overview
PHOSTOXIN® is a restricted-use aluminum phosphide fumigant used for the fumigation of labeled raw agricultural commodities, processed foods, animal feed and feed ingredients, tobacco, certain non-food commodities, and labeled burrow treatments.
When exposed to atmospheric moisture, PHOSTOXIN releases phosphine gas, a true fumigant gas that penetrates properly sealed commodities, structures, transport containers, and burrow systems to control listed pests according to the product label.
PHOSTOXIN is commonly used in stored grain, seed storage, animal feed, flour milling, warehouse, export, railcar, container, barge, ship, and commodity storage fumigation programs. It is also labeled for certain rodent burrow applications, making it useful in agricultural and non-crop settings where labeled burrowing pests are present.
PHOSTOXIN is available in tablet and pellet formulations. Tablets decompose more slowly than pellets and are commonly used when a slower phosphine release is desired. Pellets release phosphine faster and may be preferred in applications where faster gas generation is needed, depending on the fumigation plan, commodity, temperature, burrow conditions, and label directions.
This product is a Restricted Use Pesticide due to the acute inhalation toxicity of phosphine gas. A valid applicator license is required before sale or shipment. Proper training, gas monitoring, placarding, fumigation management planning, aeration, PPE/respiratory protection, disposal procedures, and burrow-treatment restrictions are required.
Important Purchasing Note:
Restricted-use pesticide documentation is required before shipment. PHOSTOXIN requires palletized/LTL shipping, and freight charges may need to be confirmed after order review. Always read and follow the full product label and applicator manual before use.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION
The use of PHOSTOXIN tablets is not limited to any particular type of storage. They can be applied in silos, bins, warehouses, railcars, containers, barges or ships. Application may be made either by hand or by inserting the tablets or pellets into the commodity using a probe. When fumigating silos or bins, the tablets or pellets may be added to the commodity during the filling procedure.
The most economical and safe method of application while filling a silo, is the use of an automatic dispenser. Storages requiring more than 2 days to fill should not be treated by addition of fumigant to the commodity stream as large quantities of phosphine gas may escape before the bin is completely filled.
