Product Overview

Actellic® 5-E Insecticide is a low-odor grain protectant used for the control of listed insects on stored corn, popcorn, grain sorghum, and labeled bulk or bagged seed.

The active ingredient, pirimiphos-methyl, provides residual protection against labeled stored product insects when applied according to the product label. Actellic 5-E is applied as an admixture treatment as grain or seed enters storage or export containers.

For farmers, grain elevator managers, seed suppliers, feed facilities, and grain storage operators, Actellic 5-E can be used as part of a stored grain protection program for labeled commodities such as field corn, popcorn, and grain sorghum.

The label lists control of several stored product insects, including rice weevils, granary weevils, maize weevils, red flour beetles, confused flour beetles, sawtoothed grain beetles, merchant grain beetles, cigarette beetles, Indian meal moths, almond moths, Angoumois grain moths, and other labeled pests.

Actellic 5-E should be applied uniformly with suitable application equipment as grain enters storage or export containers. The label states to apply 9.2–12.3 fluid ounces in 5 gallons of water or 3–5 gallons of refined soybean oil per 30 tons of grain. Always calibrate equipment and follow the label before use.
